Celebrating Coding at Saint Mary’s

21st Oct 2021

Over the past two weeks the children have developed their coding skills

Primary One and Two started with unplugged coding where they had to read and write their own code to get the skeleton to the grave for our Halloween theme. Then they explored Dot and Dash who had turned into a spider and programmed him to get to the witches cauldron.

Primary Three and Four created their own astronaut Sprite in Scratch Junior and made their own algorithm to navigate their astronaut around Space.

Primary Five and Six explored positional language through unplugged coding activities to navigate each other through a course during P.E. games and created a code for the Sphero to navigate through the hall passing each cone.

Finally the pupils in Primary Seven designed and created their own map and created a code for the Sphero to navigate around.
